Our History

Founded on November 23,1888 Polk Street United Methodist Church is the oldest church in Amarillo.

Our fourth and current church home was formally opened in 1928. Our building was constructed at the corner of 14th & Polk Street, down the street from the previous location at 8th & Polk Street. We are committed to ministry from the heart of Amarillo and have begun construction of a new Christian Life Center and remodeling our Child Development Center. We have a strong history of making a significant difference in our community and world and invite you to become a part of a great heritage and a great future.
