Hero Central VBS–Adult and Youth Volunteer Registration

Basic Info

Volunteer shirts are provided at no charge to all registered volunteers for VBS. This helps kids identify safe adults during VBS. Shirts for kids and volunteers are a major expense for VBS, please consider a gift to offset the cost of your shirt (and possibly a few children's shirts) to the children's department budget. This year, the cost of each adult 3 color shirt is about $7.50 (depending on size).

Areas of Interest

Availibility

There is a volunteer training breakfast on Sunday, June 4th in the Great Hall during the Sunday school hour. Will you be able to attend?
VBS volunteers will be commissioned in worship on Sunday, June 11th. You may be asked to stand as a group, but you won't have to say anything or come forward. We are asking that you wear your VBS shirts to worship on that day. Which service are you planning to attend?

Other Info

We are considering offering an evening meal to volunteers and their families each night during VBS from 4:30-5:30. Assuming the meals cost around $5.00 per person, would your family be likely to purchase meals at the church? Answering this question doesn't commit you to meals.
If you answered "yes" to the above question, which days of VBS would your family be likely to eat at the church (check as many as apply). Skip this if you answered "no." This does NOT set up a reservation.
At Polk Street United Methodist Church our children’s safety is a top priority. Please read and acknowledge the following. All volunteers in the children's department must complete a background check every 12 months. Child safety training must be taken before a volunteer starts serving and must be renewed every two years.
As a Vacation Bible School volunteer, I agree that I am going to do my best to be a Christian educational leader for the children participating in Vacation Bible School. I will do everything I can to ensure the safety of the participating children. I also understand that I should never put myself in a situation where I would be one-on-one with a child. If I have questions about this ministry, I will come to one of the pastors at PSUMC or Ken Knight, Director of Children's Ministries.
