Young Professionals: Room 207–2nd Floor

If you are in your twenties to mid-thirties, married or single, just starting a career path or well on your way, visit the Young Professionals. Studies are led by various members of the group or one of our church staff. Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in Wesley Hall, the group studies a book, carries out a mission project or participates in a fellowship activity. Foundations:  Room 206–2nd Floor

If you seek a class with a mix of younger families, then this is the one for you.  Most have children in early elementary as well as on the verge of beginning school.  The class primarily studies the Bible and seeks to apply those Biblical lessons to current life issues.  Throughout the year, fellowship gatherings and mission projects are organized for the whole family.

Cornerstone:  Room 413 — 4th Floor

If you would like to be a part of a group comprised of families with  children and youth, check out Cornerstone. Class time together begins with conversation and mutual support and encouragement.  The class format is discussion which is based upon the Bible readings.  Jim Morris is the teacher.

Horizon:   Room 403–4th floor

If you are looking to study the New Testament in order to gain a deeper understanding of the Christian Faith then Horizon is the class to visit.   One New Testament book at a time is studied throughout the year.  A study guide is used during each lesson to help facilitate discussion and growth in one’s faith journey.  The class ages range from mid- 40’s and beyond.  Shawn Palmer is the teacher.

Genesis: Room 303–3nd Floor

If you seek to apply Biblical lessons to everyday life through study and discussion with others, then visit this class.  Genesis seeks to explore, develop, and challenge their thoughts and perspectives about living a Christian life in a complicated world.  Most of this group are empty nesters with some having children in college and some having grandchildren.  Visitors will find a warm welcome from this class.

Seekers:  Room 306–3rd floor

If you want to hear an outstanding speaker and engage in discussion following Methodism’s emphasis on Scripture, tradition, experience, and reason plan to visit the Seekers.  Various topics are presented by multiple leaders with each lesson seeking to challenge growth in faith and faithfulness throughout one’s Christian journey in life.

Mobley:  Room 304–3rd floor

If you are an adult over 50 who would like to study the Bible, do mission outreach, and socialize then the Mobley Class is the class for you.  The Bible is studied from the  perspective of history, literary style, authors, and what the text meant during Biblical times as well as what it means for life today.  Mission outreach is a high priority for this class by leadingthe effort to provide blankets for homeless children.  Other projects have included Snack Packs for Kids, Kid’s Café, and High Plains Food Bank.  Bill Mobley leads this class.

Hallelujah: Room 250 in the Christian Life Center

If you want lessons centered on Bible-based curriculum then check out Hallelujah. The format of this class begins with the lesson first promptly at 9:40 a.m. so that choir members of the class may fully participate in the lesson before leaving at 10:30 a.m. for choir warm up.  After the lesson, there is a time of fellowship before the 10:55am worship service begins.

Aldersgate: Room 308–3rd floor

If you are looking for a class that has lessons based upon the Bible as well as current social issues then include Aldersgate on your list to visit.   Lessons are led by invited guest teachers knowledgeable in their topic.  Questions are always encouraged as part of the learning experience.  Monthly dinners and a variety of service projects are an important part of this group’s ministry.

Mary & Martha Class: Conference Room, Church Office

“If you are a woman seeking a class for women of middle age and up, married or single, then visit this class! Who doesn’t identify with hard working Martha or admire the single-minded devotion of Mary at Jesus’ feet? Come visit our class taught by Francis Tillery, the lessons are Bible based and remind us of the love God has for us and how to share that love with others.
