Children's Ministries @ Polk Street UMC

Our Children's Ministry combines spiritual development and fun activities to encourage your child's growth in the Christian faith.  We offer Sunday school classes, vacation Bible school, family nights and many other special activities and opportunities throughout the year.

All children’s activities are designed to be age appropriate, interactive, and relevant and are offered in a safe and nurturing environment.  You can be confident thatyour child will find our children’s ministry to be positive place.  Whether it is worship, our annual rocket launch, summer camp or studying the bible together, you will experience our commitment to working with every family as we grow in God’s love and serve Christ in our community and the world. Detailed information is mailed in parent mailings and our church newsletter.  You can also follow us on facebook.

Burt's Bytes: October 5, 2012

The words of the apostle Paul in Ephesians 4 are as instructive to us today as the body of Christ as they were to those who rst heard this message nearly 2,000 years ago.

“…lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
…The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”
(Ephesians 4:1a–6; 11–12a)

Jubilate Ringers Needed

We need at least 3 more bell ringers in order to play 3-octave (moderate in difculty level) bell music successfully. All that is required is the ability to count and a commitment to attend rehearsals!
We meet every Wednesday in the new Bell Room, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. We are hoping to ring in worship services at least once a month beginning in November. Please consider becoming a part of this ministry in the worship life of PSUMC.
